in a place not my own

in a place

not my own

i discover

air

again

breath

pause

yet

move

life still

harsh

reality

clenched teeth

grasping hair

between

pondering fingers

but a smile

lingers now

on the edge

the crook

of my mouth

begging

me

asking

me

to

live.
